Why you need classic car insurance

Every vehicle on the road needs to be insured to protect drivers and other people. To their owners though, classic cars are more than just vehicles, they are a passion.

That’s why basic insurance policies won’t suit a classic motor that’s often driven less, worth more and harder to repair than standard cars.

Specialist classic car insurance therefore exists to cover vintage vehicles against damage and the increased risk of theft. Classic car insurance providers recognise the ‘special’ status of the cars and provide policies accordingly. Classic car insurance is also cheaper than standard car insurance as drivers use them less often.

At Heritage, we recognise the various forms of classic vehicle ownership and use, and provide a range of policies to suit.

Is my car a ‘classic’?

There isn’t a set description of what a classic car is when it comes to its insurance. However, if your vehicle is your second car, you drive under 5,000 annual miles and your car is kept in a roadworthy condition, then we may just be able to help. There are a few more elements to whether a car is a classic depending on who you ask, but from an insurance perspective, it’s down to the vehicle, the usage and the owner. The best way to see if we can help is if you call us on 0121 248 9229.
