RHOCaR — The UK Kit Car Club

What began as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register has grown into something considerably larger and more inclusive. Today, RHOCaR is simply The UK Kit Car Club — an independent, welcoming, and genuinely active community for owners and builders of every kit car make and model, united not by the badge on their car but by the shared experience of building and owning one.
The name RHOCaR remains, but the membership has long since outgrown its Robin Hood roots. As the club puts it: anyone can be a “Hoody” — because it’s all about the state of mind, not the car you drive. Whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, a Westfield, a Caterham, an MK Indy, or anything else with an IVA plate and a grin behind the wheel, RHOCaR is the club for you.
The club is built around its online forum — one of the most active, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful kit car communities on the internet. The forum covers everything from IVA preparation and donor car selection to engine swaps, suspension geometry, wiring looms, and the kind of very specific problems that only arise at 11pm when you’re halfway through a build and can’t find the answer anywhere else. An extensive archive of member build blogs — covering Robin Hoods, GBS Zeros, Locosts, Westfields, Caterhams, and more — provides an invaluable resource for anyone at any stage of the build process.
Beyond the forum, RHOCaR provides:
- Show attendance at all the major kit car events throughout the year, including the National Kit Car Show at Malvern and the Replica & Self-Build Festival at Stoneleigh — with a club stand at each where members are always warmly received
- Regional run-outs and longer driving trips, coordinated by area secretaries across the country, running throughout the season
- An annual club camping weekend — one of the social highlights of the kit car calendar and the event where forum friendships become real ones
- A Community Map of members across the UK — so you can find fellow enthusiasts and build support close to home
- Two club magazines per year — produced exclusively for members, covering club news, member builds, technical articles, and road tests, with members able to submit their own articles for publication
Members of RHOCaR benefit from discounted insurance with specialist kit car insurers — and often find that the discount more than covers the cost of membership. Heritage Car Insurance is a proud sponsor of RHOCaR, and club membership entitles you to a discount on your Heritage kit car insurance policy.

Caterham and Lotus Seven Club

The Caterham and Lotus Seven Club is the oldest and largest club specifically for Seven-style cars in the world, founded in 1957 — the same year as the original Lotus Seven. With thousands of members across dozens of countries, the club publishes the award-winning Lowflying magazine monthly, organises a comprehensive programme of track days, speed events, road runs, and social gatherings, and provides one of the most authoritative technical resources available for Seven owners of any make.
The club welcomes owners of all Seven-type cars — Caterhams, Westfields, Robin Hoods, Locosts, and all other Seven-style vehicles, as well as original Lotus Sevens in all four series. It is the natural home for anyone who owns or aspires to own a car in this tradition and wants structured club support alongside their ownership.
