Upcoming events for Classic Car enthusiasts – 2018

All over the UK there are thousands of people who share the same passion; classic cars. Car shows and organised meets take place across the country all year round. Club representatives and individuals come together to showcase their cars, and to see other timeless classics.

Here are a selection of classic car events for the rest of 2018 in chronological order;

  • Prescott, British and Midlands Hill Climb Championships

This event takes place on the 28th / 29th of April 2018 at a 9:15AM start in Gotherington, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL52 9RD. At this event you can expect to see the opening rounds of the UK’s premier series; British & Midlands Hill Climb championship. Contact the club in regards to ticket price or checkout their website:

  • Abbey Hill Rally, Yeovil

Starting on the 4th of May through until the 7th, Abbey Hill Rally is a great way to spend the bank holiday weekend and get the chance to see classic vehicles form traction  engines to motorcycles (any age welcome). It is located on Dorchester road in Yeovil, Somerset, and there will be ring events, live entertainment, food and refreshments as well as a fairground; a nice family day out for everyone. https://www.abbeyhillrally.co.uk

  • Stratford Festival of Motoring

Taking place on the 6th and 7th of May, from 10AM to 4PM in Stratford town centre, Warwickshere, the festival consists of two ‘runs’ in the quiet, lovely countryside roads of Stratford, before heading back to park up and be on display in the main streets of the town centre.   • Deal Classic Motor Show, Kent

From 10AM—4:30PM on the 26th of May at Walmer green Deal, Kent, CT147DY. Free standard admission, £6 with a classic car. You can expect to see over 700 classic cars including Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martins, Fords, VWs and more, as well as 2 live music stages, a retro market, free vintage bus rides, local dealerships and more.   • Vintage Nostalgia Festival

If you’re looking for ‘everything vintage in one place’ then this is the event for you. From the 1st of June through to the 3rd in Stockton park, Wiltshire, there will be classic cars and bikes, vintage clothing, and event antiques as this event aims to please all.   • Manchester to Blackpool Classic Car Run

This year is the 55th anniversary of the classic car run, it takes place on the 10th of June. The start point is at Worsley Old Hall, Manchester and you can expect an array of vehicles from classic to the Edwardian era, as well as the opportunity to win awards in each vehicle class.   • Luton Festival of Transport

From 10AM – 4PM, 10th of June at Stockwood park in Luton, all vehicles are welcomed to the Luton Festival of transport. From military vehicles, to scooters and motorcycles, this festival has something to offer for any vehicle enthusiast. Adult entry is £5, Child entry is £1 and the family offer costs £10.   • Really Retro & Classic Car Show

Taking place from 10AM – 4PM, 24th of June, at the Seighford Aerodrome, Staffordshire, this classic car show offers; a range of pre 1990’s vehicles, classics from Vauxhall, Jaguar, Rover and many more. It is also open to entrees from bikes & scooters as well as commercial vehicles. Adult entry is £6.45, car entry is £4 and children go free!   • 19th Leighton Hall Classic Car and Bike show

On the 1st of July, the stunning Leighton Hall, Lancashire, hosts this classic car and bike show. Starting at 10AM and finishing at 4PM, Leighton Hall welcomes ‘anything and everything’ classic car-related. It costs £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children, to see up to 500 vehicles from vintage cars, bikes, and 4 x 4’s. ‘Well-behaved’ dogs are also welcomed and there is (paid) guided tours available from 1pm.   • Henstridge Classic Revival

On the 7th of July I would recommend heading down to Henstridge Airfield, Somerset from 10AM – 5PM to see a variety of classic cars as well as a vast choice of stalls, a food tent and entertainment for only £5 entry, and children go free. Visitors are encouraged to dress ‘traditionally’ but not compulsory. Link removed Aug 2019; website has been taken down

  • Whitstable Classic Motor Show

Located in Kent, the Whitstable Classic Motor Show takes place on the 15th of July from 10AM – 4PM and is free for spectators (£7 with a vehicle). Over 700 classic motors were on show last year, with a wide range from old to new. In addition to this, there is also good  entertainment, food and drink and a variety of stalls for the classic car enthusiast https://www.classicmusicandmotors.co.uk/

  • Beaumanor Hall Nostalgia Show

If you’re looking for a classic car event for the end of July, Beaumanor Hall’s Nostalgia show could be the ideal place to be! On the 29th of July from 10:30AM – 5PM in Woodhouse, Loughborough you can see up to 500 different classic vehicles, for the entry fee of; adult – £8, child – £4 and family (2 adults, 3 children) – £24.   • Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza

If you’re located near Gloucestershire, head down to South Cerney Airfield 3rd – 5th of August, 10AM – 5PM. Adult ticket prices are £10 and children go free. There will be a huge variety of vintage and steam vehicles and the event aims to give visitors a great look into ‘the most marvellous automobiles of the past two centuries’.   • London Cartel international Auto Show

Run by a group of ‘car show veterans’ on the 19th of August, this event is free to watch and is one of the biggest classic car events of the year. The event takes place at the South of England event centre in West Sussex and is expected to hold 5000 spectators and 2000 vehicles! In addition to this, there will also be a large food village, a trade village, an entertainment zone and competitions. For ticket information go to: https://londoncartel.org

  • Capesthorne Cheshire Classic Show

Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire, on the 26th of August has to offer a wide range of classic vehicles as well as a stunning stately home. Ticket prices are £8 for adults and £3 for children (age 7 – 14). To find out more go to: https://www.classicshows.org/

  • Classic & Retro show at Himley Hall

On the 2nd of September from 10AM – 5PM, Himley Hall will showcase over 800 classic   vehicles, with a variety ranging between American, Military or Sport classics. Admission is £8 for adults, £4 for OAP’s, and £2 for Children. There will also be an Autojumble, family entertainment, and trade stands.   • Goodwood Revival

This event is famous nation-wide, attracting the ‘best of the best’ of all types of classic vehicles. This year Goodwood takes place between the 7th and 9th of September, near Chichester, Sussex.   • Classic Car Extravaganza, Isle of Wight

This charity-run event takes place at Newport Quay & Ryde Seafront on the 15th and 16th of September. Entry is free, and it starts at 9:30AM – 5PM. The host of the show parades hundreds of classic vehicles around local roads, with the help of Wight Link Transport for all spectators to see for free.  https://www.facebook.com/iowclassiccarshow

  • Malvern Classic Motorcycle Show & Autojumble

Taking place at Wye Halls Three Counties Showground from 10AM – 3PM on the 14th of October, this event aims to showcase ‘all things classic’. It offers a wide range of classic  vehicles, in particular, an impressive Mini collection! Admission fees are £10 for adults and £3 for children (7 – 14 years).   • London to Brighton Veteran Car Run

Starting at 7AM at Hyde Park, London, on the 4th of November, this event only accepts cars built before 1905, the group leaves in order of oldest to newest and spectators can expect to see a variety of magnificent classic cars.   • The Christmas Cracker at Manchester Museum of Transport

The museum of transport in Cheetham hill, Manchester is hosting ‘The Christmas Cracker’ on the 1st and 2nd of December. Expect to see a huge variety of stalls, stands and sellers of all classic car/transport memorabilia .   • Sun Inn Steam & Vehicle meet
